Walk-in Hours of Operation & Important Information

Mon. - Sat. (closed Sun.) 

Tours 10AM-3PM (last tour at 3PM)

Tours are on the hour and last approximately one hour. 

Tours are limited to 15 people per tour and are filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Admission:

$10 Adults

$5 Children 6-12 yrs        

Free Children under 6 yrs

(Two adult admissions for the price of one for all active duty members of the United States Armed Forces.)

Group and School Tours:

Group tours are available by appointment year round at a discounted rate.  Complete info here

School tours, including homeschoolers, are available for K-12 grades by appointment year round.  Rates are $3 per student; $5 per teacher; $8 per other adult chaperones.

Parking:

Free parking is located directly behind the house.

Accessibility:

The Mary Todd Lincoln House is partially wheelchair accessible.  The first floor of the museum can be reached via a handicap lift and is wheelchair navigable.  The upper floors of the museum are not wheelchair accessible.  A photo album of the 2nd and 3rd floors is available for visitors who are unable to or choose not to tour the upstairs.  Written text materials are provided for the hearing impaired and paper/pens are available to facilitate communication between the tour guide and a hearing impaired visitor if requested.  For visitors who have difficulty standing for extended periods of time, folding chairs are available upon request.  Guide dogs with harness are permitted.

This two-story brick, late Georgian house with its stone water table and belt course was built in 1803-1806 as an inn by William Palmateer.
