Cadette Girl Scouts are invited to an event inspired by the relationship between Mary Lincoln and dressmaker Elizabeth Keckley, both born in 1818 in very different circumstances. Scouts will stitch a needle case, examine period fashions from undergarments to accessories, explore connections between gender and fashion, and work with artist Sonja Brooks on a culminating art project. Reservations required by contacting crausch@gswrc.org at Girl Scouts of Kentucky’s Wilderness Road.
